Cold product storage warehouses are one of the important factors that prevent breaking the cold chain in food storage. The products to be stored must be subjected to a cooling process immediately after production, without waiting.
The temperature of the product should be reduced to storage temperature as soon as possible. However, in this way, the cell shape of the food material can be reduced to a minimum. In addition, the relative humidity of the environment should be adjusted appropriately in order to keep the moisture loss of the product at a minimum during cooling. Foodstuffs are stored in cold product storage warehouses in order to preserve their freshness and increase their shelf life. Examples of cold storage conditions of some foodstuffs are given below.
The insulation of the warehouses where the temperature is provided at +4°C / 0°C is provided with 80mm thick polyurethane sandwich panels and they are called cold storage warehouses. They are the most commonly preferred warehouses. It is established for the preservation of all processed foods that may need cold storage. Preventing bacterial growth that may cause spoilage in processed foods, reducing enzyme activities and oxidation can be shown as the main reason. It is preferred for fresh milk and dairy products, meat and processed meat products and fresh seafood.
